I recently found out that one person I'm close to is now engaged and another started dating. I want only the best for all involved. Recent experiences have made me fearful. A beloved friend is getting divorced. I was there and signed her marriage license and now this is what has happened. I know that this doesn't happen to every couple but it is way too common. So to find some comfort and put things in Jehovah's hands, I find myself praying for the engaged couple as well as the dating couple. I want them to make the right decisions and it's not within my power to know if they are doing that. So I pray...and pray.
Maybe...I worry too much.
You do not worry too much - you care about your friends! I also feel that they appreciate your prayers in their behalf. Today's system is rough but they can make it anyway with Jehovah's help and your loving support. Just think, Your parents have been married forty plus years, Ralph and I over 30, and I know there are many more longtimers out there. I too feel hurt over the break up of a marriage so its good to see those who are dating/engaged taking the time needed to get to know one another and (hopefully) get it right the first time. Never stop being you!!!
ReplyDeleteI know how you feel. I keep such ones in my prayers as well. It's not weird to be concerned. Choosing a marriage mate is a really serious decision. I mean if both mates live on to the new system they will be together for eternity. So it never hurts to pray that Jehovah help them make a wise choice. :)

ReplyDeleteThanks guys! I didn't mean to if I came across as gloomy. I've very happy for both couples. There are a lot good examples of marriages that work out so I hope the best for them. Thank you again for understanding. :)
